About us
Over two decades of spinning acrylic yarn in Kashan
Bayer Kashan Spinning began operations in 2003 and reached full production in 2008 with dyeing, spinning, and heat-set machinery for long-staple yarns.
In recent years, the company has modernized its machinery and infrastructure, and it is now capable of producing yarns equivalent to 50/3 high-bulk or heat-set. This would not have been possible without first-grade raw materials such as Akpa fibers and Henkel (Germany) additives, along with an experienced team.

Fiber
Quality starts with the raw material: first-grade acrylic fibers such as Akpa, together with high-quality additives.
Dyeing
The company’s dyeing unit makes the most of acrylic’s high dyeability to produce uniform shades.
Spinning
Fibers become yarn of the right count and twist, including long-staple yarns equivalent to 50/3.
Heat-set
Steam and heat stabilize the twist and develop the bulk of hi-bulk and heat-set yarns.

The conversions between systems are exact; for plied yarn, twist contraction is not included (the real tex is slightly higher). The thickness and twist in the picture are illustrative.
Variables explained & how accurate this is
This tool converts a nominal yarn count between four systems using standard definitions. In Nm and Ne a higher number means a finer yarn; in Tex and denier a higher number means a thicker yarn.
- Single-yarn count
- The count of one strand before it is twisted with others — the number you enter in the chosen system.
- Number of plies
- How many strands are twisted together. “Nm 50/3” means 3 strands of Nm 50 each.
- Nm (metric)
- Metres of yarn per gram. Nm = 1000 ÷ Tex
- Tex
- Grams per 1,000 m of yarn.
- Ne (English cotton)
- Number of 840-yard hanks per pound. Ne ≈ 590.54 ÷ Tex
- Denier
- Grams per 9,000 m of yarn. Den = 9 × Tex
- Resulting yarn count
- The count of the plied yarn: roughly the sum of the strands’ tex. For Nm: single-yarn Nm ÷ plies. Example: Nm 50/3 → Nm 16.67 = 60 tex
- Twist
- Only changes the picture of the yarn; it does not affect any number.
- Accuracy
- The conversions between Nm, Tex, Ne and denier are exact for nominal values (they are definitions). In a real plied yarn the twist shortens the strands — usually by a few percent, depending on twist level — so the actual tex is slightly higher than the sum of the plies, which this tool does not model. For an order, the count confirmed by the manufacturer is what counts.
